Roundtable discussion on Strategic Human Resource Management implementation :  Strategy 4 Performance Management

On December 18, 2018, HR4ASIA working group of Prince of Songkla University, Pattani Campus held round table meeting to discuss on strategy and action plan to implement The Strategy 4 :  Performance Management. This strategy is one of The Strategic Human Resource Management plan, “PSU People Strategy 2018 – 2022”, which has been discussed and approved by executive management team at Prince of Songkla University, Pattani Campus. The discussion is leaded by Ms. Nursahida Useng, Assistant to the president for human resource management and organization development, accompanied with Vice president for Academic Service, Assoc. Dr. Montira Leelakriangsak, Director of General Administration department, Mrs. Supawadee Siyapong, Director of Education services division, Dr. Somchai Rattanakoch, and Head of Language center Pattani campus, Mrs. Thantawan Arparattakhun.

Strategy 4 : Performance Management aims to improve employee’s performance and enable them to fully contribute to the University and reach their full potential. The first activity to perform in this strategy is “Coaching in The University to Enhance Employee Performance”. Ms. Nursahida Useng projected a chart of performance appraisal scores indicating that most of the employees are scored with high rank, however, performance is not synchronized with the entitled score. Thus, university shall initiate coaching session and obligate an executive or a leader in managerial role to perform coaching to their employees to improve employee performance and to motivate employee morale.

To implement Employee Coaching Activity, Action plan are as below :

  1. Developing coaching database to record coaching activity and the summary of discussion.
    2. Deliver training workshop on “How to perform coaching to an employee” and “How to use a coaching database” to all executives including director and division head to ensure that they are equipped with the knowledge and experienced enough to carry out the coaching session.
  2. Announce to all employees in Prince of Songkla University, Pattani Campus that coaching activity is a mandatory activity to be implemented after annual performance appraisal which will be carried out on the month of July 2019.
